Panchshila Co-Operative House Building Society Ltd.

Panchshila Co-Operative House Building Society Ltd was formed in the year 1968 by Late Shri R P Barman along with his four friends. They named the Society “PANCHSHILA” which means five rocks, signifying their friendship.

Panchshila Park is by the Outer Ring Road, located between the prestigious IIT Delhi in the West and the commercial hub of Nehru Place in the East. To the North it has the massive reserved forest with its jogging and walking tracks, and in the South is the busy shopping centre of Malviya Nagar. Panchshila Park has been classified as an ‘A’ Category Colony by the MCD. It is now conveniently serviced by the Hauz Khas and Panchshila Park Delhi Metro stations.

Panchshila Club, Montessori School (Raindrops) and Primary School (Rainbows) These are units of Panchshila Co-operative House Building Society Ltd and were a part of the vision of the founders, who wished for a happy community living with excellent schools and amenities within the Society for the members.

The Panchshila Club, an exclusive and well-located oasis of greenery in the heart of South Delhi. With its welcoming atmosphere and timeless charm, the Club is very popular among members of all ages.

Founded in 1969, it is amongst the oldest neighborhood clubs in the capital and is presently affiliated to over 40 Clubs (including India and abroad). While maintaining its vintage appeal, the Club offers a host of facilities for members including a huge swimming pool, lush green lawns, a well-equipped gym, tennis, basketball and badminton. And for those looking to try their hand at the club’s various sporting activities coaching facilities are available. The Bar is always buzzing with conversation, a 70-cover restaurant is a favourite family hangout, the Poolside Café is an eternal favourite and there is a party area which is popular with members looking to host functions and gatherings.

The Club hosts a number of regular events such as Tombola, Musical Programs, Food Festivals etc. The Diwali Mela, Christmas and New Year events are much appreciated and Holi with its riot of colors and bonhomie is a big celebration on the calendar.

In Winter the Lawns become the most popular spot in the Club with lunch being served daily in the warm sunlight. The adjoining Children’s play area serves to keep the younger lot occupied while the adults can enjoy a lazy afternoon.
